Józef Piłat born in 1900, he lived in Dębska Wola (Kielce region). A carver, he was “discovered” after the war and became popular since the 1950s. In 1972, a year after his death, the Świętkorzyski Museum in Kielce organized a solo show featuring 156 of his works.
